  • What is tufting? Do I need experience?
Tufting is a textile technique: you push yarn through a stretched fabric backing with a tufting gun to make rugs, wall hangings and other soft pieces. No experience is needed. Our workshops are built for beginners, and our team guides you through every step.
  • What’s included? What should I prepare?
Everything is provided: the tufting gun, yarn, backing fabric and instruction on designing, tufting and finishing your piece. No drawing skills are needed, because you project your image onto the canvas and trace it. Bring your design on your phone, or pick one of our templates. Email it to the studio ahead of time and we can pre-trace it on the canvas for you. Not sure what image to pick? See our image selection guide.
  • How long does a workshop last?

It depends on the workshop, and for tufting on the size of your frame:

    • Rug tufting: 3 to 5 hours
    • Perler beads: paid by the time you use; a rough duration is optional when booking

Choose your session around the size and complexity of your project. Contact the studio if you’re unsure about the time it needs.

  • Is there an age limit?
Rug tufting is for ages 12 and up, and guests under 18 need an adult with them. The tufting gun takes steady hands and a few hours of focus. For a family perler visit, contact the studio with the children’s ages so we can confirm supervision and help around beads and heat tools.
  • How do I book? Do you take walk-ins?
Book online, ideally at least a week ahead. For a private group, use the corporate and group events form. Walk-ins aren’t guaranteed: call the studio first and we’ll fit you in if there’s space.
  • Can I book a private event or party?
Yes. We host birthdays, team building, company offsites and other private events, in the studio or at your location. Tell us about your event and we’ll get back to you with availability and options.
  • Can two people work on one piece?
By default each guest books and works on their own frame, and a small frame fits one person. If you’d like to share a medium or large frame with a partner, contact the studio before you book and we’ll arrange it.
  • How do I care for my finished piece?
Most tufted pieces can be spot-cleaned with mild detergent and water. We go over care for your specific project at the end of the workshop.
  • What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before your session for a full deposit refund. Contact the studio you booked with your booking reference. With less than 24 hours’ notice, the studio reviews the request and a refund isn’t guaranteed. To reschedule, contact the studio as early as you can. Read the full booking policy.
